Loida Camats Quer is a self-taught photographer, artisan, poet and visual storyteller from the Mediterranean, currently based in Norway.
Nature — with its branches, stones, and cycles — as well as the land and landscape, is ever-present in her work. Deeply influenced by her roots in the rural landscapes and folklore of central Catalonia, she approaches her projects through walking and immersion in the places she inhabits, reflecting on the relationship between humans and our surroundings through a contemplative, mystical and folkloric gaze.
Visual arts, nature, and words form the bridge between her studies in Human Biology and Cultural Management. Guided by intuition and meditation, she co-creates — with nature as an emotional and historical mirror — visual pieces, photo-sculptures, and photo-poems that unfold as a poetic, multidisciplinary and intersectional dialogue among landscape, body, memory, solitude and presence.
Now living in Western Norway, her practice is gradually expanding to explore northern landscapes, cultural memory and elements of Nordic mythology, weaving new connections between territory, imagination and the living world.
